About Me
Hello, and welcome to my classroom! My name is Frank Rago, and I am a happy husband and father of beautiful twin boys. I have been teaching middle school science since 2015 and am a passionate, enthusiastic, and engaging teacher who loves to elevate the fun in the classroom.
I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Earth and Space Science Education in 2015. During my time at NIU, I was invited to join the National Honor Society Tau Sigma and graduated with honors. To further my education and collaborate with other experts in my field, I regularly attend professional workshops when they fit into my schedule.
My teaching philosophy centers around bringing fun and excitement into the classroom while also fostering a safe and respectful learning environment for all students of all backgrounds and abilities. I foster this kind of environment by creating clear expectations for behavior and communication, modeling respectful behavior and language, and actively working to address and prevent bullying, discrimination, or other negative behaviors.
In addition to my teaching duties, I have also been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, including coaching volleyball, running a gaming club, leading a strength training and fitness club, and supervising lunch periods. These activities have allowed me to make connections with all students, not just those in my classroom.
When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, including playing games, watching movies, and creating digital art with AI programs. I believe that strong connections with my family help me to better connect with my students and understand their individual needs and interests.
